When I was a young trumpet player, the only trumpet players I knew about were stars that were larger than life: Maynard Ferguson, Wynton Marsalis, Bud Herseth.  These iconic legends were larger than life, and seemed almost like they were from another planet- and I while I admired and was inspired by them, I found it hard to relate to them.  I have been fortunate to have a career as a trumpet player, and this website is about life as a working trumpet player and musician.  If you are a young and aspiring trumpet player I hope you will find some helpful information here that you will be able to relate to your own playing.
